It can return a transparent PNG or place the subject on a simple white or black background, depending on the workflow you need. The best source has clear separation between the subject and the background, useful resolution around the edges and as little motion blur as possible. Hair, fur, glass, smoke, bicycle spokes, thin straps and semi-transparent materials are the areas that deserve the closest inspection because they contain fine or partially transparent edges. A transparent PNG is ideal when the same subject must be reused on several backgrounds, while a fixed white background can be more practical for marketplace listings and documents. Check the cutout on both light and dark test backgrounds to catch bright halos, dark fringes or missing details. For product imagery, verify logos, labels, shape and natural contact shadows before publishing. Background removal changes the surrounding pixels, not the product itself, so accuracy should remain the priority.

Edge pixels can contain color from the original background or from a matte used during export. Test the transparent result on both light and dark backgrounds, then refine color contamination or semi-transparent edges instead of shrinking the whole mask.
It can preserve fine edges when the source has enough separation and focus, but flyaway hair, fur, smoke and translucent materials are difficult. Use a high-resolution source and inspect the alpha edge at 100% zoom on contrasting backgrounds.
Keep a natural contact shadow when it makes sense on the intended new surface and helps the product feel grounded. Remove or rebuild shadows that contain the old background color, have a hard crop or conflict with the new lighting direction.
PNG is the safest widely supported option for transparency and clean graphic edges. WebP can also preserve transparency when the destination supports it. Ordinary JPEG does not contain an alpha channel and will flatten transparent areas.
