Nexhance AI is an online AI image enhancement studio with separate workflows for image enhancement, 2×, 4× and 8× upscaling, old photo restoration, face restoration, background removal, deblur, denoise, sharpening, relighting and product photo enhancement. Each workflow is designed for a specific image problem rather than applying one general filter to every upload.

Which tool should I use first?

Start by identifying the visible problem. Use Image Enhancer for mild softness and compression, Denoise for grain or blocks, Deblur for camera shake or soft focus, Old Photo Restoration for scratches and fading, and Upscaler when the main issue is insufficient pixel dimensions. When several problems are present, clean damage and noise before the final upscale.

Which image formats can I upload?

The studio accepts JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF images. The server checks the real file signature rather than trusting only the extension. Uploads can be up to 50 MB and 100 megapixels; very large output combinations are also checked before credits are charged.

How can I get the best result?

Use the highest-quality original available, avoid screenshots when the original file exists, crop only after preserving a master copy, and choose the smallest effective enhancement strength. Review faces, text, logos, hair, jewelry and repeating patterns before downloading.

Can AI recover detail that was never captured?

No system can recover every fact that was absent from the source. AI can estimate plausible texture, edges and facial detail, but those additions are reconstructions. For historical, legal, medical or identity-sensitive use, keep the original and treat the enhanced result as an interpretation.

What is the difference between an image enhancer and an image upscaler?

An image enhancer improves visible clarity, contrast, texture or compression at the current size and may optionally enlarge the result. An image upscaler is specifically used to increase pixel dimensions. Use enhancement when the photo looks generally weak; use upscaling when it is too small for the final layout, crop or print.

Can I improve a low-quality phone photo?

Yes, especially when the problem is mild compression, low-light noise, moderate blur or insufficient dimensions. Start with the original camera file rather than a screenshot or forwarded chat copy, then use enhance, denoise, deblur or upscale according to the dominant defect.

Should I enhance a photo before or after cropping?

Preserve the full original first. A rough crop can help the tool focus on the useful subject and reduce processing size, but avoid an extremely tight crop before restoration because surrounding edges, shadows and context may help you judge the result. Keep a master so the crop can be changed later.

What is the difference between 2×, 4× and 8× upscaling?

A 2× upscale doubles both width and height and creates four times as many pixels. A 4× upscale creates sixteen times as many pixels, while 8× creates sixty-four times as many pixels. Use the smallest multiplier that reaches the required dimensions. Nexhance AI checks the expected result before processing and keeps supported enhancement or upscale outputs within the plan-based 240–360 megapixel result ceiling.

Should I denoise, deblur or upscale first?

Denoise first when grain or compression artifacts are strong. Deblur next when edge smear or focus softness remains. Upscale after cleanup if you need larger dimensions. A final light sharpen can be useful after resizing, but it should not replace deblur.

Can old photo restoration change a person’s face?

Strong restoration may reconstruct small facial details. Use conservative settings, compare with the original and other known photographs, and avoid treating generated features as historical evidence. Face Restoration includes an identity-fidelity control for this reason.

Why does a result sometimes look too smooth or “plastic”?

Excessive denoise, face reconstruction or sharpening can flatten natural texture. Reduce the enhancement strength, preserve grain where available, or process the image in smaller steps. The strongest setting is not always the best setting.

Does background removal support transparent output?

Yes. The transparent workflow returns a PNG so the alpha channel is preserved. You can also choose white or black output. Inspect hair, fur, glass, thin straps and shadows on both light and dark backgrounds before using the cutout.

How long does image processing take?

Small finishing jobs may complete quickly, while high-detail enhancement, restoration and 8× output can take one to four minutes. Actual time depends on source dimensions, selected quality, current processing demand and network conditions.

Can Nexhance AI make blurry text in a screenshot clearer?

It can improve the legibility of mildly soft or small text with deblur, upscaling and controlled sharpening. It cannot guarantee the exact recovery of letters that are severely blurred or missing. Verify names, numbers and important wording against the original source rather than treating reconstructed text as evidence.

Why should I denoise before sharpening?

Sharpening increases contrast around whatever edges are present, including random grain and compression blocks. Denoising first reduces those unwanted structures so later sharpening can focus on meaningful edges. Use moderate denoise to avoid flattening skin, fabric and hair.

What is the difference between transparent and white background output?

Transparent output contains an alpha channel so another design or color can show through. White output permanently fills the removed area with white. Choose transparent PNG for flexible design assets and white when the final marketplace or document requires a fixed white background.

Why can colors or lighting change after enhancement?

General enhancement, restoration, relighting and product workflows may adjust local contrast, tone or color while recovering detail. Compare skin tones, brand colors and neutral products against the source. Use a less intensive workflow when accurate color is more important than a dramatic visual change.

How do Nexhance AI credits work?

Credits represent processing usage. Simple workflows such as sharpening use fewer credits, while larger images, 4× smart-detail upscaling and specialist restoration use more. The browser shows an estimate, and the server verifies the actual image dimensions and settings before charging.

How do free utilities and AI tools differ?

The eight browser utilities use 0 credits and do not need an AI processing job. The AI workflows use account credits. New Free accounts receive 15 one-time AI credits; Starter includes 250 recurring credits, while Creator and Studio provide 750 and 1,800 recurring credits and unlock 8× output where supported.

What happens to my credits if processing fails?

For signed-in users, the server consumes credits before processing begins and attempts an automatic refund if the job fails before a usable result is returned. The failed job remains visible in processing history with an error status.

Do unused subscription credits roll over?

Monthly subscriptions reset the available balance to the plan allowance after each successful monthly renewal. Yearly subscriptions receive twelve monthly allowances upfront after successful annual payment and reset at the next annual renewal. Unused subscription credits do not roll into a new billing term.

Can I cancel a subscription at any time?

Yes. Active paid subscriptions can be managed and cancelled through the Dodo Payments customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; access and remaining credits follow the policy for the active billing period.

Why does Nexhance AI use credits instead of unlimited processing?

Each completed image has a real processing cost that varies by workflow, image size and output dimensions. Transparent credits make that cost visible and help preserve quality without hidden fair-use limits or sudden restrictions.

Privacy, rights and commercial use

How uploads move through the service, what is stored and what responsibilities remain with the user.

How is image processing secured?

Private AI-processing credentials are never displayed in the browser. AI jobs send the image and selected settings to Nexhance AI for validation and processing. Free browser utilities such as compression, resize, crop, conversion, color tools and metadata-clean export do not require an AI upload.

How long are processed images stored?

The included server stores completed result files temporarily and removes them after approximately 24 hours. Account and processing-history metadata may remain longer for credit accounting, support, fraud prevention and user history. Specialized processing services may apply their own limited operational retention terms.

Can I use enhanced images for client or commercial work?

Nexhance AI is designed for professional workflows, but you must have the rights and permissions required for every uploaded image. Commercial use also depends on the applicable service terms and the rights attached to the source content. Enhancement does not transfer copyright or create permission you did not already have.

Can I upload photos of other people?

Only when you have a lawful basis and any consent required for the intended use. Do not upload private, intimate, confidential or biometric images without appropriate permission. Identity fraud, non-consensual intimate imagery and unlawful surveillance are prohibited.

Does Nexhance AI use my uploads for training?

Nexhance AI does not operate a training pipeline for user uploads. Uploads are used to complete the requested transformation and deliver the result. External processing providers may apply their own operational handling and retention terms, which are described in the Privacy Policy.

Why was my image rejected?

The file may be larger than 50 MB, exceed 100 megapixels, use an unsupported format, be empty or have a file extension that does not match its real content. Enhancement and upscale jobs can also be rejected before charging when the requested result would exceed the plan-based result ceiling. Re-export as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, or choose a smaller output multiplier.

Why does the result look different from the source?

Strong reconstruction can estimate missing detail, so strong enhancement, restoration and relighting can reinterpret small structures. Lower the strength, use standard upscaling, increase identity fidelity or choose a specialist cleanup tool before trying again.

Why is the result file large?

Upscaling increases pixel dimensions significantly. A 4× upscale creates sixteen times as many pixels as the source. Transparent PNG files can also be larger than photographic JPEG or modern web formats.

Why is processing stuck or taking longer than expected?

Large images and premium workflows take longer, and current processing demand can vary. Keep the page open during processing. If the request fails, the job should return an error and signed-in credits should be restored automatically.

Why did a downloaded result disappear later?

Processed result files are temporary and are scheduled for removal after the service retention window. Download the result when it is ready and store your own copy. Processing history may retain job information even after the temporary image file is no longer available.

What should I do when the upload button does not accept a file?

Confirm the file is a real JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF image within the size and megapixel limits. Rename alone does not convert a file. Re-export it from a trusted image editor, refresh the page and try a current browser. Do not repeatedly submit the same job while a previous request is still active.

Why are thin edges or hair missing after background removal?

Fine hair, fur, glass, wires and transparent materials can blend into the original background. Use the highest-quality source with clear subject separation, then inspect the cutout over both light and dark colors. Some difficult edges may require manual refinement in a design editor.

Accounts and processing access

Why an account is required, how the return-to-tool flow works and what happens to free credits.

Can I enhance an image without creating an account?

You can use the free browser utilities without signing in. AI processing requires a Nexhance AI account so credits, failed-job restoration and processing history can be managed correctly. This protects credits, supports failed-job refunds, limits abuse and keeps processing history connected to the correct user.

What happens when I click Start processing while signed out?

Nexhance AI opens the sign-up page with a secure return path. After successful registration or Google sign-in, you are sent back to the same tool you selected so you can upload again and continue with the intended workflow.

Do new accounts receive free credits?

Yes. After account creation and sign-in, each new Free account receives exactly 15 one-time credits. Signed-out visitors do not have a credit balance. The free grant does not renew; paid subscriptions provide the recurring monthly allowance or annual upfront grant shown on the Pricing page.

Why is processing unavailable even though I am signed in?

First check that the account has enough credits for the selected image size and settings. If credits are sufficient but processing still reports unavailable, retry later or contact support with the tool name and error message so the service status can be checked.

Resolution, print and web output

When should I choose 8× upscaling?

Reserve 8× for genuinely small images that must become much larger, such as tiny AI artwork, old thumbnails or a heavy crop. It costs more, takes longer and can invent more texture than 2× or 4×. Creator and Studio plans include 8× access, and the requested output must remain within the expanded plan-based result ceiling.

Why is 8× disabled for my image?

8× is available to Creator and Studio accounts. It can still be unavailable for a particular source when eight times the width and height would create more than the plan-based result ceiling. Free and Starter accounts include output up to 4×. The server verifies both plan access and final pixel count before consuming credits.

Does increasing DPI make an image sharper?

Changing only the DPI metadata does not create new pixels. Print quality depends on pixel dimensions divided by the intended print size. For example, a 3000-pixel-wide image prints at 10 inches wide at 300 pixels per inch. Upscale only when the required print dimensions need more real pixels.

Which format should I use for the web?

Use WebP or AVIF when your publishing workflow supports them and small file size matters. JPG remains practical for photographs and broad compatibility. PNG is best for transparency, logos and hard graphic edges, but it can be much larger for photographs.

How should I optimize a result without losing visible quality?

Resize to the largest display size actually needed, use a modern responsive image format where supported, preserve an original master and compare the compressed export at its real display size. Avoid repeatedly saving the same JPG because each lossy export can add artifacts.

Can an image be enlarged without any quality loss?

Increasing pixel dimensions always requires resampling or reconstruction. AI can produce a larger image that looks natural at its intended size, but it cannot recover every original fact that was not captured. Use the best source and the smallest multiplier that reaches the required output.

Should I download an enhanced photo as JPG or PNG?

Use JPG for ordinary photographs when smaller file size and broad compatibility matter. Use PNG for transparency, screenshots, logos, text-heavy graphics and repeated editing where hard edges must remain clean. Keep a high-quality master before creating smaller web copies.

How do I prepare an image for social media without making it blurry?

How should I prepare product photos for an online store?

When is vector redraw better than AI upscaling for a logo?

Use the original SVG, PDF, EPS or design file whenever it exists. For critical logos, wordmarks, signage, packaging or cutting workflows, a manual vector redraw is safer because exact geometry, stroke width and typography matter. AI upscaling is useful when the only surviving asset is a small raster, but every letter, corner and transparent edge should be checked after enlargement.

How do I describe an object I want removed?

Can AI Text Remover remove a date or caption from my own image?

Can I use Text Remover to remove watermarks?

Why did the AI Image Editor change something I did not mention?

Prompt-based editing is generative, so the model can reinterpret nearby pixels even when the instruction is focused. Keep prompts short, make one change at a time and explicitly name important details that should remain unchanged.

Should I make several edits in one prompt?

For predictable results, make one meaningful change at a time. A long prompt that changes the subject, background, lighting, clothing and composition together gives the model more freedom and makes it harder to identify which instruction caused a problem.

How should I review an AI-edited product image?

Compare the output with the original and inspect shape, labels, logos, ports, stitching, packaging text, color and visible condition. A polished result is not acceptable for an e-commerce listing if it changes what the customer will actually receive.

Are AI edits reversible?

Nexhance AI returns a new result rather than modifying your original file. Keep the source and download important versions so you can return to an earlier state. A generated edit itself cannot always be mathematically reversed back into the exact source pixels.

What is the difference between Background Remover and Background Changer?

Background Remover isolates the subject and returns transparency or a simple fixed background. Background Changer generates a new environment from a prompt and may adjust edge lighting so the subject fits the scene. What should I write in a background-change prompt?

Describe the location, visual simplicity and lighting. “Clean neutral photography studio with soft floor shadow” is easier to control than “make it professional.” Product images usually benefit from a simpler prompt than creative campaign artwork.

What is generative expand or outpainting?

Generative expand, also called outpainting, creates new image content beyond the original boundaries. It can make a portrait taller, a landscape wider or a square image fit a banner without stretching the existing pixels.

When is Image Extender better than cropping?

Use Image Extender when cropping would remove an important subject or when the layout needs more space for text. Use the free Cropper when you already have enough content and simply need a tighter composition.

Why can an extended background look unrealistic?

Large extensions give the model more area to invent. Perspective, horizon lines, architecture, repeated patterns and shadows can become inconsistent. Expand only the amount you need and inspect the newly generated edges at full size.

Can Image Extender recover what was originally outside the photo?

No. It generates plausible new surroundings from the visible context. The added area is not a recovered part of the original scene and should not be treated as documentary evidence.

Does Photo Colorizer know the real historical colors?

Usually not. A black-and-white photograph does not contain enough information to prove the original color of every object. The result is a plausible interpretation, so keep the monochrome source and label colorized historical images appropriately when accuracy matters.

Should I restore an old photo before colorizing it?

Usually yes. Repair scratches, dust, severe fading and contrast problems first so the colorizer is working from a cleaner image. Keep restoration and colorization as separate steps so you can preserve a repaired black-and-white version too.

Is vectorization the same as AI upscaling?

No. Upscaling creates a larger raster image made of pixels. Vectorization converts visible shapes into paths that can scale without a fixed pixel grid. Use vectorization for suitable logos and graphics; use upscaling for photographs and raster artwork that should stay raster.

Can I vectorize a photograph?

It is possible, but detailed photographs can produce thousands of paths and very heavy SVG files. For most photos, a high-quality raster format is more practical. Vectorization is strongest for graphics with clear shape boundaries.

Will AI Vectorizer preserve small logo text exactly?

Not always. Small letters, counters inside characters and tight curves can merge or simplify. For a brand-critical logo, use the original vector file when available or refine the generated SVG in a vector editor before production.

What is the difference between Color Picker and Palette Generator?

Color Picker samples a specific pixel and returns its color value. Palette Generator analyzes the overall image and extracts several representative colors. Use the picker for an exact on-screen point and the palette tool for mood boards or theme exploration.

Can I get an official brand color from a screenshot?

A screenshot can be affected by compression, anti-aliasing, display capture and image scaling, so the sampled value may not match the official brand specification. Use the official brand guide or source design file whenever exact identity colors matter.

Why are several pixels in the same object slightly different colors?

Lighting, shadows, reflections, gradients, compression and anti-aliasing change pixel values across an object. Sample a stable area and compare several nearby points when you need a representative color rather than one accidental highlight or shadow.

Can the Palette Generator create a website color scheme?

It can provide a useful starting palette from a reference image. You still need to check contrast, accessibility and brand consistency before using those colors for text, buttons and interface states.

Does the Free Image Compressor use AI credits?

No. Compression is a normal browser-side image operation and uses 0 credits. It is intentionally separated from AI enhancement because reducing file size does not require a generative model.

What quality setting should I use for image compression?

There is no universal number. Start high, compare the result at the real display size and lower quality until the file becomes meaningfully smaller without visible blocks, ringing or smeared texture. Text-heavy graphics usually need a different setting from photographs.

Should I resize before compressing?

If the image is much larger than the final display dimensions, resizing first can produce the biggest file-size reduction. Then compress the correctly sized image. Keep the original master so you can make other sizes later.

What is the difference between resizing and AI upscaling?

Does cropping reduce image quality?

Cropping removes pixels outside the selected frame but does not necessarily compress the remaining pixels. The final image has fewer total pixels, so an extremely tight crop may later need upscaling if you want a large print or layout.

Can I convert PNG to JPG?

Yes, but JPG does not support transparency. Transparent pixels must be flattened onto a solid background during conversion. Keep the PNG master if you may need transparency again.

Does converting JPG to PNG restore lost quality?

No. PNG prevents additional JPEG-style compression in the new file, but it cannot restore detail that was already discarded by the original JPG. The PNG may also become much larger without looking better.

When should I use WebP or AVIF?

Modern web formats can reduce photographic file size while maintaining good visual quality. Use them when your publishing workflow and target browsers support the format, and keep a broadly compatible master or fallback for other uses.

Do free browser utilities require an account?

No account or AI credit balance is required for the supported free image utilities. They are designed for routine tasks such as compression, dimensions, cropping, conversion, social presets, colors and metadata-clean exports.

Why does a converted image sometimes become larger?

Different formats are optimized for different content. A photographic PNG can be much larger than a JPG or WebP, while a simple graphic may remain efficient as PNG. Choose the format based on transparency, image type and destination rather than assuming conversion always reduces file size.

Should I upload the biggest possible image to social media?

Why does my social media image look blurry after upload?
